Torpedo crush Dynamo 4-0 in Moscow derby

MOSCOW, July 12 (Reuters)(DS) - Torpedo Moscow handed rivals Dynamo their worst defeat of the season with a 4-0 thrashing in a Russian premier division derby on Thursday.

Torpedo, who had never beaten Dynamo since the break-up of the former Soviet elite league in 1991, went ahead through Vyacheslav Kamoltsev's header at the half-hour mark.

Belarus international Alexander Lukhvich made it 2-0 just before the interval with another header.

Igor Semshov and Dmitry Vyazmikin -- top scorer in the league with 13 goals -- added two more after the break to complete Dynamo coach Alexander Novikov's misery.

Novikov was appointed full-time coach less than 24 hours before the match.

The win lifted Torpedo, on 29 points from 16 games, into fourth place, just two points off defending champions Spartak Moscow.
