...3. Since the first appearance in the European Cups on 1966, the best achievements of Torpedo have been runs to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup and the Cup Winners' Cup.

Eleven seasons ago Torpedo have knocked GAIS Gothenburg (5-2 on aggregate), Sevilla (4-3 agg.) and Monaco (4-2 agg.) out of the competition en route to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup. After losing 0-1 away to Brondby, Torpedo won their home match 1-0, but then lost 2-4 in the penalty shoot-out.

In 1968 they met Cardiff City in the quarter-finals of the Cup Winners' Cup after the victories over Motor Zwickau (1-0 agg.) and Spartak Trnava (6-1 agg.) and were stopped by the rivals losing the first match 0-1 in Cardiff, winning in the return game 1-0 in Tashkent, but losing the replay match 0-1 in Augsburg.

In 1987 Torpedo repeated the best result in the Cup Winners' Cup when played vs Bordeaux in the quarter-finals and even though they drew 3-3 on aggregate, went out on the away-goal rule.
