I think Birmingham situation is ridiculous. But if you look at Atsenal over the last 4 years or so they have fielded many teams in Premier league without 1 English player. Weaver was a great keeper for City and Huckerby was as you say a 'gung ho' typical English forward. He was hero to mant City fans. But the standard of the Premier league has risen so much that these players are no longer good enough if you watch to go for honours. Do you remember Kinkladze, Banaurbea and Berkovicth? From the new signings initially i would say that Elano is the classiest.

За Торпедо я болею (неожиданное признание), Сити мне по большому счёту безразличен, в этом и состоит корееное различие. I think that Bradley Wright Philips was always going to be in the shadow of Shaun who was the crowd favourite at the time. Being honest i think that his level was the Championship. He played for Southampton last season and could not command a regular place. He scored many goals for our 2nd team but struggled in the Premier. At first hit hurt taking an ex Man U player but to be fair we signed him from Aston Villa. He quickly commanded the respect of all supporters and he also became a favourite. His son Kasper was our keeper against Man U today!

Kasper is my favorite youngster keeper for 2-3 years. I even buy him almost every time, while playing football managers.)) According to the info I've got, he's extremely gifted and in addition a seldom workaholic, I wouldn’t be surprised if he'll build on his father's career.

As far as I know in many European cities, where there are two clubs in the elite, the one, which latest history is not very rich in trophies, is often more popular with the natives, than another, which has more supporters in other regions, even abroad (e.g. Barcelona, Torino, Munich etc.). Kasper has been well coached by his father and shows all the same attributes. He just lacks the red nose !! Yes, you are correct about the lesser succesfull team being more popular, this is definetly the case in Manchester. The Gallaghers are the most famous, they are great supporters and have a great attitude to life.We do have minor celebrities but you maybe would not have heard of them. Our most famous supporter now is Ricky Hatton the World Boxing Champion. He attends most home games.
