The 25-year-old striker, who only scored a handful of goals in his first two full seasons in Russia, now has seven this season after finding the net four times in the last two games. Robson opened the scoring after 12 minutes, hammering home from close range after a mix-up among Torpedo defenders in the penalty box. Vitaly Litvinov equalised for Torpedo 10 minutes later after a nice through ball from Sergei Kormiltsev, who was signed from Ukrainian champions Dynamo Kiev just two days ago. But 30 seconds later Yegor Titov put Spartak back in front, beating Ukraine international goalkeeper Valery Vorobyev with a long-range shot for his league leading tenth goal of the season. Then Titov found Robson unmarked in the box seven minutes after the break and he struck again for a 3-1 Spartak lead. Torpedo defender Vyacheslav Dayev pulled another goal back with a powerful header from a corner in the 61st minute, but Robson restored Spartak's two-goal cushion in the last minute to grab his first premier division hat-trick. It was Spartak's second win over Torpedo in the last two weeks after they crushed their city rivals 3-0 on June 18. The win moved Spartak on to 40 points from 16 matches, leaving them eight points clear of Lokomotiv Moscow who have a game in hand. The game had been brought forward two months to ease a heavy autumn schedule for Spartak who start their Champions League campaign in September. |
