Hello Torpedo Fans!

Here is my personal vision of the first-leg game.

Lausanne-Sports Torpedo Moskva 3-2 (1-2)

3100 in attendance (what a pity, we should have been more), including 20 or
25 Torpedo fans with russian flags. I talked to one of them. They are a group
of Russians living in the area.

First minutes balanced. Both teams watching each other.

8th minute: Yellow card for #16 Puce (D, Swiss), foul on your #19,Vyazmkin

13th minute: Good pass to #23 Konchiliev, he started faster and is one meter
ahead of # 4 Meyer (D, Swiss, plays in the U-21 National team), heading for
the goal, foul from behind from Meyer, Penalty + Yellow Card.Gashkin shoots

15th minute. Yellow Card for # 22 Kalakov (foul)

21st minute. # 9 Mazzoni (F, Argentina) receives the ball in ideal conditions

card to the Torpedo goalie. Personally, I think that a red card would have been
fair as there was no one left to stop Mazzoni. Penalty shot and scored by #

24 th minute, corner for Lausanne, a header (#20 Karlen , D, Swiss)...I see
it in, I yell....and I was wrong: outside net.

Then from 25th minute until half-time, the Torpedo show. Better technique,
offense, domination, keeping the ball. We saw a lot of Gashkin, #20 Zvingilas,
#23 Konciliev, #19 Vyazmkin, # 4 Litvinov.

31st minute dangerous counterattack from Torpedo, ends in corner. Corner from
the right, one header, and then a perfect header from Litvinov to the left post,
bounces in the goal. 1-2

A little later, one incredible and indescriptible opportunity for Torpedo to
score the third and kill the game. The were playing at 5 meters of the goal,
many passes, but eventually just waited too long before shooting.

At half-time, the 1-2 score was well deserved. Tough time for us. Our heads
were down, little hope.

Second half, Lausanne made one change. In came #12 Thiaw (F, Senegal), out
was Lutsenko (M, Ukraine).

47th minute. Corner for Lausanne, one header, arrives to Kuzba at the second
post, header and goal. 2-2

49th minute. Incredible scene in front of the Torpedo goal. Crowd of players
falling, ball rolling, goalie missing, and
Mazzoni is behind the ball, almost on the goal line, and just can't miss. 3-2
Lausanne.

After that, the match lost some intensity. Torpedo was shocked and did not
have the mastery showed in the first half. Lausanne could not continue on its
enthusiastic start, not knowing if they should be happy with the short win,
or try to go for the 4-2. Eventually, at the end of the game, it was more Torpedo
dominating and Lausanne counterattacking.

One big scoring opportunity for Lausanne by Thiaw. A powerful, sudden, unexpected
shot from far, saved by the goalkeeper's foot.

Several opportunities for Torpedo, shots just too high or wide, two or three
dangerous free kicks after fouls just outside of the 16 meters.

At the end I can say that Lausanne earned its victory by challenging Torpedo
and daring to be more offensive when needed, but Torpedo had at least as many
chances to score a third goal or more than Lausanne to get to the forth one.

I think Lausanne should have taken just a few more offensive risks, and they
might be sorry in two weeks that a one-goal margin was not enough.

If Torpedo is able to play all game in Moscow like it played the second part
of the first half, Thursday will be a long long night for Lausanne. Torpedo
should be expected to score more than one goal on September 28. Lausanne's chance,
in my opinion, is not to reach a 0-0 score, but to try to score on counterattacks.

I am looking forward to come in Moscow on September 28. Of course, I hope that
Lausanne will win, but I will be ready to say "Molodiets", "Kakoi krasiviy",
if Torpedo wins by playing like it showed it could in the first half.
